Bristol Sauna Yard is a family-run, wood-fired Finnish sauna and ice bath space.

It’s intentionally rustic. Sauna shouldn’t be a luxury; it should be your weekly reset.

What are the benefits of contrast therapy?

Stress reduces quicker than a seagull nicks your chips on the harbourside

The endorphin rush improves mental wellbeing, lowers stress hormones, and leaves you calmer and happier.

Recover quicker than you can say ‘alright me luvver’

Hot–cold exposure improves circulation, reduces inflammation, and helps muscles repair faster.

Heart stronger than the Suspension bridge

Regular sauna sessions have been shown to lower blood pressure and support long-term cardiovascular health.

Burns calories while you just sit there – gert lush

Sauna use raises your heartrate and metabolism, while cold exposure activates brown fat — together they can support fat burning & weight control.

Memory sharper than Park Street’s incline

Regular sauna use has been linked to sharper memory, better learning, and a lower risk of dementia.

An immune system tougher than a cyclist at rush hour

Heat and cold stimulate white blood cell production, boosting your body’s natural defences.

Sauna + ice bath = balance, resilience, and vitality.

  • Please bring:

    Swimwear

A refillable water bottle to stay hydrated

Two towels (one to sit on in the sauna and one for drying off afterwards)

If you’d like, bring flip-flops or swim shoes, and something warm and cosy to wear afterwards.

  • Using the sauna is about more than just heat - it’s relaxation, health, and connection. We recommend short rounds of 5-15 minutes inside, with breaks outside to cool down or take a plunge in the ice bath.

Arrive 10–15 minutes early to get changed and settled. Please note: if you’re late, we can’t extend your session time.

  • Bring two towels – one to sit on in the sauna and another to dry off afterwards.

Use water mindfully – check with others before pouring water on the stones and give the heat time to build. A few ladles go a long way.

Respect the atmosphere – this is a shared space. Keep conversation low and be mindful of others who may prefer a quieter session.

Rinse before the plunge – a quick shower helps keep the cold tanks fresh for everyone.

Aromatherapy – only use the sauna infusions provided by our team. Other oils can be unsafe on the stove.

Sober space – alcohol and sauna don’t mix. We keep the Yard alcohol-free.

Phone-free zone – no phones inside the sauna. Photos are welcome outside the cabin, but please ask permission first.

  • We have a simple, rustic set-up in our courtyard:
